I skipped Amazon. Ordered from Ekgaon.

How do you generate business for innovation? While we have been trying to get money out of corporates and govts, how can we, as consumers, support innovation?

Until now, I have been ordering all my stuff from Amazon. It’s convenient, easy to trust and has never failed me. Given the millet freak that I am, I am hooked to the ProNature brand that sells on Amazon.

During the last few months, I had asked some brilliant startups why they didn’t sell on Amazon? Was it not easy money just lying there? Then I learnt of the pros and cons.

Anyway, this time, when I had to order, I decided to order from EkGaon. I have been planning this for a long time but did it today. Not just because I admire Vijay, who is also one of the oldest heads in the sector, but also because now I know my millets are from Kanchipuram and rice from Seoni in MP.

Traceability has been a huge part of my interest in agritech and there are a lot of plans on how to scale them. But for traceability to work, consumers need to care to know, we need to value the information is brings.

Next time you spend your money, spread it around. Reward those who are doing great work, become a customer.
